Justin was born in Navajo Nation in New Mexico. He graduated from U.S. Grant High School on south side of Oklahoma City in 1999. In 2000, he then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force as a B-52H Crew Chief. After being Honorably discharged from the Air Force, he joined the U.S. Army as an Infantryman in the year 2007. After 4 deployments in his 11 year (non-consecutive) service, Justin was honorably discharged from the Army in 2012.
In 2014 Justin began training Mixed Martial Arts, which inspired his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey under Team Carson Gracie Jr., with Shawn Hammonds Jiu Jitsu, in Kentucky, where he earned his blue and purple belts.
In 2023, Justin joined the Renzo Gracie Team under the instruction of Professors Sheldon Valka and Alex Henley. In 2016, he started out as an assistant coach in the Kids program and eventually became the Director over all the Kids programs. He now coaches the 4-7year-olds for Team Insight BJJ of Somerset. Being a Kids coach has become a passion for Coach Justin as he inspires and motivates the next generation of Juijiteiro.
